Fast facts on Russia

Here is the Russian flag:
I was skimming in the Russian guidebooks while I was waiting on the platform of the Belorussky
Railway Station in Moscow and quickly noted some fast facts about Russia in my leather bound notebook:
Description of the Russian flag:
The flag of Russia is a tricolor flag of three equal horizontal bands: white at the top, blue in the middle and red at the bottom. It was during the XVII century that the tsar Peter the Great brought back the colours of the flag in his voyages to Europe. The Dutch flag influenced tsar Peter though the disposition of the colours is altered. The signification of the colours of the flag:
The white band represents the colour of the tsar, the blue band symbolizes the colour of nobility and the red band signifies the colour of the people. This harmony of colours originally was described as 'Pan-Slav' colours and soon became a major influence for various other flags of Eastern Europe.
